Dr. Sean Stevenson Collins

Dr. Collins is originally from Hastings, New Zealand and was drawn to Rice because of its outstanding record for nanoscience discoveries and is dedicated to cultivating transdisciplinary research. He is a Carl and Lillian Illig Fellow with the Smalley-Curl Institute working as member of the Landes Research Group in the area of chemistry. Dr. Collins’s research focus is on the electrochemical properties of single metal nanocrystals using optical microscopy and spectroscopy to determine how nanocrystals will perform as electrocatalysts and electrochemical sensors.
